Space & Facilities

The Centre’s spaces comprise a large hall, refreshment area, kitchen and small committee room, which are all available either for regular hire for clubs and classes, or for occasional events.  The Centre has been used for parties, family gatherings, indoor sports events, committee meetings, conferences, workshops, exhibitions and fund-raising events.  

The large hall’s dimensions are 21m x 9.5m (68ft x 31ft) with a maximum height of 2.4m (8ft).  It provides a large airy space for functions and activities, and holds a maximum of 120 people.  Hire of the large hall includes the use of the kitchen and refreshment area, and of around 100 chairs and 20 tables.  The hall has a sound system which hirers can use with their own electronic devices and audio equipment.  Broadband Wi-Fi is also available.

The refreshment area is 10m x 3.5m (32ft x 11ft) and is situated next to the kitchen with an adjoining service hatch.  It is furnished with coffee tables and chairs and seats around 20 people.  The area is ideal for serving refreshments for functions in the large hall, or for hosting coffee mornings.

The kitchen’s facilities include a cooker with a two-shelf oven and grill, a fridge and a microwave, the Centre’s own crockery and cutlery, and an instant hot water urn for hot drinks.  

The small committee room is available for separate hire, which can seat up to 12 people for meetings. 

There is a public car park directly outside the Community Centre (operated by Abbots Langley Parish Council).  Alternatively there is a large public car park in the centre of the village just a few minutes’ walk from the Community Centre. 

For access for people who have a physical disability, there is a dedicated parking facility in the adjacent car park, which is a flat journey across tarmac to the front door of the Community Centre.  There are no steps into the Centre; the door is at ground level.  A spacious self-contained lavatory with adapted toilet and washing facilities and an emergency alarm are provided.  There are no steps within the Community Centre; the hall is all on one level.

Please note that smoking or the sale or consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited on the Centre’s premises.
